At St Andrews we want the children who come to learn about God and
being a Christian in a safe, fun, stimulating and relaxed way.
We have two groups:
Discoverers
(Age 3 to the end of Year 2)
Our leaders are Joye, Sarah and Helen.
Voyagers
(From Year 3 to Year 5).
Our leaders are Anita , Rob and Alex.
What do we do?
We all start off together for worship and then split
into our different groups. We
tell Bible stories, play games, do crafts, drama, puzzles and if you are
very lucky, food! We try to
encourage everyone to join in, and for the older ones that they help to
run the show as much as possible.
We all go into church for the end of the service and
usually tell the church what we’ve been up to or show what we have
been making.
Every member has their own passport so they can keep a
record of what they did and when they attended. Every ten sessions and you get a prize!
If you would like to see the material we use from
Scripture Union you can visit their web site www.scriptureunion.org.uk
and follow the links to the Light programme.
When do we meet?
During term time we meet every Sunday except for the
second Sunday of the month, when we all go into church instead with the
adults for All Age Worship. During
the summer we try to have some Sunday School sessions.
What next?
In Year 6 children move up to Pathfinders (see link)
How do I find
out more?
If you would like to know more or you need to check if
Sunday School is running on a particular day then please call the church
